Now lets read on and see how Gaandham movie review goes. Unlike Bollywod, hardly films are made set around a sport in Tamil cinema. The exceptions may be Vennila Kabbadi Kuzhu or Chennai 28. Here comes Gantham that speaks about football, the difficulties involved in women achieving in the sport set in a romantic backdrop. But for Pandiarajan, the movie has no bigger known star cast. The movie directed by Sharavanan features newcomers Tej, Rashmi playing key roles with Pandiarajan giving them god company. The movie is about Gautam (Tej) is a fun-loving youngster. One fine day, he comes across Nisha (Rashmi). He tries to woo her and loses his heart to her. Its romance in the air straightaway. However the latter is against his proposal. Now with no options left, Gautam trakes the help of his brother-in-law Rajesh (Pandiarajan), who coaches the football team where Nisha is the key player. The story, premise and the settings are okay, but sadly the execution falters. The director could have handled the script in a better manner and induced some pacy elements to make it work., He is caught between whether to make it a romantic entertainer or a sports film. Influence of films like Chak De India cannot be ruled out. The movie begins like any other commercial film and as it progresses, it loses team and ends nowhere. A couple of songs composed by Pratap are foot-tapping. Tej has tried his best to live up to his role while Rashmi chips in with her best. The saving grace is Pandiarajan. He occupies maximum scenes but his comic acts fails to evoke laughter. For an actor of his calibre, we expect more from him. The movie could have made more crisp. Editing by Viswa is disappointing. Had Sharavanan concentrated on the basics and induced more emotions and worked out a slick rom-com, Gantham would have really attracted audience.
